Understanding Level Placement
Our level structure is thoughtfully crafted to promote growth and provide tailored support at every stage, from beginner to professional. Unlike conventional systems that prioritize a technical hierarchy, our levels foster a sense of belonging, allowing dancers to flourish over time with continuous challenges, encouragement, and recognition.
Level Breakdown
We offer five levels: I, II, III, IV, and X. Each level caters to dancers at various stages in their journey, emphasizing individual progress and collective engagement.
Factors in Level Placement
Placement is based on a well-rounded assessment of skills, experience, and personal attributes to ensure dancers are set up for success in the most suitable environment. Key considerations include:
Experience in Heels: Familiarity with performing in heels, whether in-studio or onstage.
Learning Pace and Choreography Retention: How quickly a dancer absorbs and retains new material.
Movement Precision and Quality of Execution: Accuracy, clarity, and overall finesse in performing movements.
Character Embodiment and Emotional Expression: Ability to portray a role and convey emotions through dance.
Self and Spatial Awareness: Understanding personal movement and coordination within a group setting.
Stamina and Strength: Physical and mental endurance required to sustain performance.
Technical Proficiency: Mastery of dance fundamentals, vocabulary, and complex techniques.
Commitment and Teamwork: Dedication to personal growth, consistent practice, and contributing to the success of the group.
This holistic approach ensures dancers are placed in a level that supports both their individual journey and the overall community dynamic.
how to join a level
HA I: New dancers automatically qualify for this level.
HA II - IV: For students transitioning to higher levels, we offer the option to:
Attend a drop in class.
Submit a Video Placement request.
Have a Placement Expert assess them in a Showcase program Classes before the term concludes.
HA X: X is reserved for professional dancers and requires a submission or audition for placement. Please reach out to us for more details and to begin the process.
After attending one of these options, dancers will receive a recommendation for the best fit based on their abilities. Self-placement is not allowed except for Level I.
This process ensures that every dancer is placed in a level where they can continue to grow, feel supported, and contribute to the community.
